2014 Ohio Wetland Habitat Stamp “Evening Flight”

In March 2013, Adam’s painting “Evening Flight” (which features a drake Northern Pintail in flight) was selected for the 2014-15 Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. This is Adam’s second win of the Ohio stamp competition.

About the Painting:
I’ll never forget seeing my first pintail. I was struck by how precise and purposeful their plumage is and how sleek and streamlined they are in flight. My idea for this painting was inspired from watching the many pintails flying around in the evening light over the marshes near my home. It’s always amazing to me how golden the light can be and how much extra beauty and vibrancy it highlights. With this painting, I wanted to give the viewer an ‘up-close and personal’ moment with a drake pintail in flight in all his splendor as he flies low over a pristine Ohio marsh.
This painting measures 11.5 X 16 inches and is completed in oils on Masonite board. Prints will be available soon and they will be offered in the same editions as the 2005 Ohio stamp prints.
